How do you go about naming your new exotic, Himalayan, or Persian kitten or cat?  Before you jump in with wild abandonment, consider that you will be explaining your feline friend’s name to everyone you introduce them to, till death do you part!  It’s amazing how many people apologize for their pet’s name.

When considering a new name for your kitten/cat, think about:   color, personality, their walk, or their purr.  Do they have a patch under their eye?  Do they have a stripe on their back?  Maybe you have a favorite literary character, a childhood hero, a patron saint, or a favorite movie star?  Is your cat gallant, or funny?

If you adopted a female and a male kitten the same age, then a name like Ricky and Lucy might be appropriate!  Get your naming inspiration form the opera, music, art, Shakespeare, theater, dance or philosophy.
